Townhomes as short term rental

Sam Lanzino
Posted

Looking for some input on a vacation rental analysis.  We found a townhome that is pretty close to the beach, modern in comparison to the houses, nice curb appeal - however, I am little worried as there are currently 3 other townhomes in this community on Airbnb currently. Two of the properties are renting out in the 350-400 a night range for a 4 bedroom.  The other property in the community is renting 350-250 range but is exactly same layout, etc.

Has anyone had success with Townhomes as vacation rentals? Or are they are hard to differentiate and make stand out? Do they typically command a lower average rental price compared to a house?

It depends on the market and a few other specifics, but generally speaking, condos work well for STR's. I wouldn't think a townhome would be any different!
