Class act here on display. Can't believe the alleged lengths at which this couple went to break the law.

one owner refused to quit running air bnb in the city of napa and he got jail time.  you have to be pretty hard headed to do that.

air bnb permit in Napa is worth a ton.

We took one of our rental houses and re-purposed it as an short-term rental with Airbnb. The substantial income it generates helps us offset the cost of providing affordable housing for our senior tenants and others with fixed income. So by allowing us to take one unit out of residential rental inventory, we were able to save housing for 16 households who would otherwise most likely find themselves in a dire situation at this time of rising rents and current housing crisis. Glad our municipality is not as restrictive as SFO or PDX. (Knock on Wood!)  I favor a healthy balance. I don't support the idea of running large Airbnb operations which skim off too much inventory and lack the personal touch of local hospitality. But allowing property owners to re-purpose one or two properties this way seems reasonable.
