Short term vs Long term rental in Unicorporated Pinellas County?

Would anyone have personal experience on whether short term vs. long term rental in the Pass-A-Grille/Saint Pete Beach/Tierra Verde area is better?

My biggest concern is the short term rental netting the same amount of cash flow in the end as the long term, but with triple the work.

The house we are looking at is 2 stories, approximately 2400 ft².  It does not sit on waterfront land or have a pool, which I notice many of them more in-demand properties have.

Thanks for any insight!

Ps. The area we are most interested in is unincorporated Pinellas.
