Property Management

Hello,

I am trying to start a property management company in Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, and Venice Florida.  The area is great for short-term rentals and I have had great success managing my own properties.  Any ideas on marketing to second home/vacation property owners in the area?  My website floridapropertycare.com has received some traffic but very little has transitioned into deals. I have contacted realtors but without much experience they seem to have reluctance in recommending us.

Thanks,

Cody

Hi Cody,

I just got back from the Vacation Rental Managers Association Eastern Seminar in Atlanta, and there was a lot of discussion on how property managers should and can grow their businesses.

My company's CEO also moderated a talk on recruiting new homeowners with Dave Angotti from SmokyMountains.com, Steve Presley from iTrip, and Rodney Archer from Vacations on the Water, and they spoke a lot on the importance of establishing strong relationships with local relators, offering fixed rent contracts, using owner referral programs, etc.

Here's a slide from one of the presentations that might be of help:

My company likewise offers help and resources for property managers to grow their businesses, so I'd be happy to talk further if you have any questions!
