STR Technologyy Stack

Hi all!

My wife and I are about to purchase our first STR property and I am looking into tools to help automate/streamline bookings, messaging, monitoring, etc. Any recommendations on companies and why?

Thinking about:

1. PMS
2. Direct Bookings Site

3. Smart lock, temperature, water leak sensor, door/window sensor, external facing cameras.

Anything I'm missing? Appreciate any help I can get.

Hi Daniel

If you only have 1 STR I do not think you need all that much. I am a PM with 65+ listings so these things are very important to me, but if I had just 1 listing to self manage I would:

1. List on Airbnb + VRBO and use those 2 apps.  They have some built in automations for guest messaging.

2. Unless you have a super unique and/or super high end property I do not think you need your own site.  If you insist there are some reasonably priced solutions though I have no recommendation.

3. Smart Lock I recommend Schlage Connect. Thermostat and cameras are your choice of brand of preference i.e. Eufy, Google Nest, Ring, etc etc.

4. I would recommend potentially using PriceLabs for pricing.

I really dont think you need much else at all.
