Cashing out IRA to buy rental properties.

Steve Englehart
Posted

I currently have two long term rentals and am looking into buying into the short term rental arena. I know there are penalties and tax implications but wanted some advice on cashing out Roth IRA or IRA to buy investment properties?

What are the considerations and potential consequences of cashing out a Roth IRA or IRA to invest in rental properties?

Cashing out an IRA can incur significant taxes and penalties, making a self-directed IRA a recommended alternative for investing in real estate.
