Vacation Rental Hosts

Hello, everyone.

I would like to know the best ways to connect with Vacation Rental Hosts and what they are looking for when they need to hire a professional cleaner for their properties.

Sounds like you are a valuable asset to hosts in your area! You are in a great place for host feedback and checking out some local FB groups or hosting groups to get specific feedback. Here are my criteria for finding new cleaners as host
1. Experience with STRs - they at least know or can understand the extra steps it takes to make ready the properties, including photos (cleaners hate taking photos, I've found, even though it protects them from being blamed)
2. Ability to check with referrals - if possible, I like talking to any current hosts or owners they work with.
3. A team - I have been bitten too many times, relying on one cleaner, so every place I hire has to be able to provide at least 2 cleaners in case there is an issue for 1 on a turnover day.

4. Attention to detail—I do test runs.  potentially hiring, either with a trusted person or myself staying in the unit. We will examine after the first initial cleaning to see if they go above and beyond or do the absolute bare minimum.

Perfect, these are valuable tips, and I completely understand the points you made, especially regarding the team. That's why I'm currently training new staff to ensure we can always deliver properties with the required quality standard and efficiency.

By the way, do you think it would be interesting to offer some basic customizations, like themed paper products or towels, during specific holiday months?

Themed items may be a good idea but for the most part guests want a professional clean look. Most hosts stick to white or something similar to a hotel, that guests would expect to see in a rental.

I completely agree! I think something more subtle, like folds in paper, could convey a sense of care and renewal. But also for some specific ones.
