Does anyone know if the surrounding areas in Dallas are affected by Short-Term Rental restrictions? Thanks!

Plenty of restrictions....Arlington only allows in a specific area. Dallas has recently implemented pretty strict rules. Plano under consideration right now. Addison has restrictions and registration. You pretty much just have to call each city and find out their regulations. Just like Houston area. Some have restrictions and some don't. The new Dallas rules have been challenged, but even if lifted, you know where the city hall sentiment is....so I expect them to potentially make things difficult on STR operators. Better to be in a place that embraces it, vs always on your back.
