Pain Points for Hosting

Brook Davenport
Posted

For those of you just starting in your hosting journey/ or want to, what have been your biggest pain points (hurdles) in the process?

ie finding cleaners, setting up messaging, getting 5 star reviews, staying booked, finding the right property…

Comment what you thought has been the hardest part in the start of the process!

I had very little pain with my first two STRs. They were easy money-makers right from the start. However I paid cash for both so had a little more room for error.

I would say that the biggest 'pain point' in this business is this: If you want to make top dollar on an average place, you need to self-manage, clean yourself, and do your own repairs. That can wear ya down.....

I'm not talking here about some of the big places that some people have with 4-6 bedrooms and all that. I just had 2BR/1BA places renting for $150 a night. Slim profit margin there....
