Vacation house in Sweden

Hey there from Sweden!

I'm thinking about getting myself a summer vacation home in the south of Sweden, and I could really use some advice from my Swedish investor buddies. So here's the deal: Should I buy this place privately or put it in my company's (AB) name? I know there are some tax advantages to having it under the company, but I just want to hear what you guys think and get some different perspectives.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Kind regards,

Delil

Quote from @Michael Baum:

Hey @Account Closed! Welcome to the forum!

I am afraid you might not find anyone here that invests in Sweden.

I don't know the laws in Sweden, but regarding the purchase; in the USA if you buy a property with a conventional mortgage (2nd home loan) there can often be a clause that forbids using it as a rental. That depends on the lender, plus there is a due on sale clause when transferring the property from personal to a business entity. Not every lender has that requirement as well.

So, you might get more favorable interest rates if you purchase it privately vs the company.

Is the reason for buying it in the business for asset protection?

Hey Micheal and thanks for your answer! It's both.
