Ideal number of bedrooms in a short/midterm rental

I am looking to purchase a house in Gainesville, Fl to be either a short term or mid term rental.  I know there are a lot of factors and each market is different, but in general do 2 bedroom units do just as well as a 3 bedroom unit?
