NEW to STR

Hello all, I have some property near lake Ontario in western New York on the Niagara wine trail and Niagara Falls, I was thinking it may be a good spot to build an STR to help me get started. Are there any sites out there that can help with the estimates on building vs buying? And also how can I look at this area to see if this is a good market or not..
