Access to house blocked

we have a house we will use as a STR we recently closed on in Pigeon Forge. there is a steep rocky embankment in the front by parking area. The prior owners had used a side entrance (going through neighbors property) for the past 50+ years. There is a paved walkway through neighbors lot leading to our house. This neighboring house also has a new owner & they have blocked this access with a tall fence. We had already planned to build a staircase up the steep rocky embankment but until that time, we need to access our property. I plan to still walk on neighbors property (same paved pathway the prior owners used for the past 50+ years) and just walk to loop around the fence until our staircase is built. Can I do this ?

Sometimes the velvet glove works better than the Iron Fist.

Might be worthy to go-a-visitin' on Sunday and bring some doughnuts and coffee and discuss the situation with the new owner.

Explain what you know, and listen to what they know and see if a conclusion can be reached.

Doughnuts and coffee are a lot cheaper than an Attorney (as last resort), and these are your neighbors, do you want to have bad feelings.

What if your place needs a little something while you are not there, Iron fist makes enemies, velvet glove makes friends.

If it were mine I'd shake a hand and make a friend and try to solve it in person.

It might be they don't understand, or they just don't want strangers walking through their land.

    Just my 2 cents.
