Current STR Legality in Miami

Hello BP family! I'm a local, full-time Realtor working out of Fort Lauderdale. However, I do work from Palm Beach County down to Miami-Dade. I'm currently working with a buyer, who is looking to purchase a multi-family to house hack-- renting out the other units as STR's on Airbnb. Up in Broward and even Palm Beach, local restrictions & regulations seem to be pretty clear cut in regards to Short Term Rentals. However, in Miami, I've been experiencing a different situation. I just can not seem to find concise information from the city on where/if STR's are legal, and which areas may be zoned for it. I've spoken with The City of Miami Zoning, Office of the Property Appraiser, etc. looking for more clarity on the local regulations all to no avail. I have mostly been referred to the Miami Code, which is quite difficult to navigate on the city's website.

I am simply looking for either experience from local STR investors or any insight into the legality of STR's in Miami. I wish that there was an official map from the city to show where they are allowed, though I have not been able to find one at this time-- only from third-party sources. Of course these regulations are evolving so rapidly nowadays, so yesterday's information may not be todays. I owe it to my future and current clients to have up-to-date insight, and any info would go a long way. Many thanks!
