Wind Only Policy in FL since Ian

Has anyone been able to get Wind Only Policy since Hurricane Ian?

One rep said Citizens no longer offers wind only. Is that true?

Just ran into this issue on a property one block from the beach on the east coast of FL. I was told by Proper they're (Loyds of London) not currently offering wind coverage in Florida coastal areas, they recommended I go with their policy and layer it with wind only from another company.  Was working with at least 5 different agents trying to find wind only.  Citizens was the only one that gave me a wind only quote but is was astronomical, also mentioned even though its wind only, using as a short term could disqualify.  Ended up going with Steadily who offered full coverage w/wind, also overlooked many plumbing and electrical issues that were sticking points for other companies.  It was more than double the price of a standard/non short term homeowners policy and coverage was not as good compared to Proper.

Proper did say once a period of time has passed after hurricane season they may start offering wind again.  I'll be checking back with them periodically because their policy was better than Steadily in my opinion.  Surprisingly finding insurance was the most difficult part of the process on the purchase of my first investment property. Good Luck!
