Looking to list my first STR in Pittsburgh

Hey!

I'm looking to start my first STR in Pittsburg, but not very familiar with the area.

Is there anyone that has experience with STR in this area? and can help me figure out if the specific house that I have is a good candidate for STR?

Thank you

Thanks @Jeremy Taggart. Hi @Lior Nissim, I have a couple STR's myself. I like Pittsburgh's STR market because as of right now, there aren't many restrictions in the city limits, and there are a lot of reasons for people to be traveling here. Tons of hospitals, universities, financial institutions, shows, etc. that give this market some "pull".

For example, my STR's are both about a half mile from the University of Pittsburgh campus and the VA Hospital. My guests are mostly travel nurses, medical residents, families dropping off/visiting their kids at school, or people going to entertainment shows nearby.

I like buying in neighborhoods like that have lots of "pull" to them like what I mentioned with mine above. That's Oakland. I also like Mt Washington and some parts of South Side. You can also just aim for really prime neighborhoods like Lawrenceville, Shadyside, Central Northside, etc. that are super walkable and desirable places to be for anyone coming to the city. Depends on what your budget is because those will have a higher entry price point, but the STR demand is those areas is great.

Feel free to DM me and we can discuss more. There's some nuance to thinking about STR's but in general Pittsburgh can be great if you bring a nice product to market.
