Water Catchment System in Washington state

I'm looking at a property that needs a water catchment system (in a place that rains 200 days/year). Does anyone out there have any experience with water catchment systems? It would be for 1-2 bed short term rental cabin. My real questions are:

1. Cost

2. Maintenance

3. Hot water heater?!?
