Opinions on STR market in Branson

Becky Samuel
Posted

Hi all, my husband and I have been looking for a STR property along the gulf coast, but recently became interested in Branson, MO. Does anyone currently invest in this area? I'd love any thoughts you have on if this is a great market to buy in right now, or not? Anyone know if it's saturated, and how well it's doing for investment STR? With the economic changes going on, we also want to invest in a stable market that will weather a recession relatively well. TIA for your input!

@Becky Samuel

I bought my first rental in Branson 7 years ago and it a STR. I feel it's over saturated there and this is my lowest cash flowing property. I have 15 LTR in the Dallas area and only cash flowing around $400/month off my Branson 2 bedroom cabin I paid 130k for back in 2015. It's close to town and right next to silver dollar city. I don't self manage so you could save a lot if you want to deal with all the hassles of running it yourself. I pay a PM 30% so that's probably why it's not doing so well. Lol. But average nightly rent is only around $200/night on it which tells me it's over saturated there.
