I'm moving to Rockville, MD next week for work - a lot of the homes in the area have completely finished basements with their own entrance. Was considering purchasing a home and turning part of the house into an STR/Air BnB - anyone have any experience in the area? Would love to chat more. Thanks!

Montgomery County limits the amount of days per year you can do a short term rental to 120 days per year. So you can make some extra money, but its not a viable investment strategy here. In fact every jurisdiction in the metro area limits them to 90-120 days...except city of Alexandria which recently made a change to their city code.
