Short Term Rental Hands Off System
Hello all! I am in the market for a STR and need to develop a system thats hands off. I work over seas and will not be available for day to day problems that occur. How does everybody build their STR business to be hands off? How can I set up cleaning to be on time and inspect the property after every turnover? How can I ensure everything works every checkout/in with such a high turnover rate? Is this even possible? Would love to hear what people are doing!

Not possible, although many will claim otherwise. Cell phones and software do not:
- fish snakes out of the dryer
- Tow guests out of a snow bank X mas eve
- Help the find the property after dark
- unplug the potty on July 4th
- help them turn on and work the TV
- Etc.
Housekeepers often want a weekly check in hand. Many don’t have bank accounts. Same for handymen. It’s just not as easy as it might seem.
Be prepared to actively manage your property, pay someone to actively manage your property, or buy treasury bonds.
