Researching Rochester STRs

I live in CA and I'm considering buying a single-family home in the Rochester area and setting it up as a STR when I'm not visiting family in Rochester. Does anyone have experience with STRs in the Rochester area? I'm on Mashvisor, so I see some numbers that work, but I want to learn more about the market and local regulations.
