Hello,

I am thinking of purchasing a property to use as a short term rental in Florida. Can anyone provide me with popular destinations that are STR friendly?

Thank you!

Danielle

Hey @Danielle Du Plooy - The panhandle of Florida (places like Destin, Miramar Beach, Panama City Beach) are STR friendly and still have some deals on the market that can cash flow. This area has long been reliant on seasonal tourist demand and it is a very large part of the strong economy in that area. My wife and I have two STRs down in this part of FL that we manage remotely and have had overall great experiences thus far. I personally believe that the Florida Gulf Coast, particularly the panhandle, have the prettiest beaches in Florida. It makes for a great STR area with strong rental demand.

I am happy to share some of our experiences, both successes, failures, and lessons learned if you're interested. I'm assuming you may also be remotely managing, so I would be glad to give some insight into how we have been able to make it work and which systems have worked best.
