H.I.T.(Houston Investment Team) Houston's Inner Loop B.P. Meet Up

H.I.T (Houston Investment Team) is a central (inner loop) meet up for Houston Texas. The name H.I.T. was born out of the foundational idea that Bigger Pockets promotes and that is being helpful to one another and being a "team" to each other as we embark on or further our real estate investment journey.

This meet up is for distinguished investor and the newbie as we all have things to gain and learn from each other.

Our August meet up will be held at the Frontier Title Company. They graciously allowed us to use their fantastic office and conference room with views of downtown and memorial park. Their won't be any sales pitches, guru bs, or items for sale. This is purely a meet up for like-minded people looking to share and grow with and through others.

Our August speaker, Steffen has been investing in real estate on an active basis since 2016. After having purchased, renovated, and self-managed a rental portfolio of 5 single-family properties and condominiums, he decided to transition into the multifamily space at the beginning of 2018. In less than a year he has invested with partners in 3 properties representing a total of 206 doors and is active in a GP capacity on two of those projects. He is currently targeting another 25-unit property here in Houston and a 57-unit complex in Atlanta. Steffen has successfully used partnering and syndication structures to get into larger deals, and faster than he would have on his own.

On the corporate career-side of his life, Steffen has been working in the offshore oil and gas industry for over 12 years in the areas of risk management, finance, corporate development, and business administration. He currently serves as the Director of Finance & Risk Management for a specialty EPC company with $350-$450M in revenues. Steffen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Business Management from Wheaton College, MA and a Global Executive MBA from INSEAD.

In his (limited) free time, Steffen enjoys camping, hiking, rock climbing, reading, and hanging out with his Wife and Daughter . . . and dragging both around town to check out multifamily.
