Today we want to share a “life hack” that, when properly implemented, can have a dramatic effect on your wallet and the financial destiny of your family. This is much more than simple tricks or ideas to shave five minutes off your work day.
On the surface, house hacking sounds simple enough. You purchase an owner-occupied multifamily property (duplex, triplex, or 4-plex), and then live in one unit while you rent out the others. Just like that, it seems, you could lower your expenses, increase your cash flow, and get paid to live rent-free.
