Something all real estate investors need to think about, is asset protection. Having your business set up correctly and protecting everything you own, is critical. The last thing you want to have happen, is have a lawsuit take down everything you have (personal and business).

This month we will have local real estate attorney Jaren Johnson go over the option you have, and determine which one is best for your situation. He will cover:

  • Sole Proprietorship

    • Partners

    LLC/LLP

    • S Corp

    • C Corp

  • Jaren L. Johnson is an attorney and founding partner with Johnson Law Office, PLLC. Prior to forming Johnson Law Office, PLLC, Jaren was a partner at several firms in Minneapolis as a real estate and corporate law attorney.

Jaren is admitted to practice in the Minnesota State Courts, Minnesota Federal Courts and Bankruptcy Court, and the U.S. Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is Board Certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association as a Real Property Law Specialist, a designation held by approximately 400 attorneys in Minnesota. Recently he was named a “Super Lawyer” by Minnesota Law & Politics magazine, a listing of the top five percent of attorneys in the state. He is at ease with transactional matters as well as litigation, securing favorable verdicts at the trial and appellate court levels for his clients. Jaren also contributes his time through speaking engagements, pro-bono work, Minnesota’s high school mock trial program, SCORE, and he is a member and current president of the Riverton Community Housing Board of Directors, which oversees the operation of hundreds of affordable rental housing units near the University of Minnesota.

We meet once a month to bring real estate investors together. The meeting is free and is based around networking. Have a property to sell, service to offer or just want to join the local real estate investor scene please join us at our next meeting.
