Investing in Louisiana has unique benefits due to our abundance of historic properties. This month NOREIA has an outstanding and informative presentation that will allow our members to gain insight into Historic Tax Credits and how it can help your bottom line. Our speaker is James Rolf, who has over 15 years of experience in rehabilitating historic structures. James' company, Rolf Preservation Works, LLC (RPW) is a locally-owned historic preservation consulting firm based in Old Gretna, Louisiana. Consultants specialize in historic tax credits, historic district and structures surveys, and preservation consulting from the Gulf South to the West Coast. RPW has experience with both Federal and State Historic Tax Credit applications, National Register of Historic Places & National Historic Landmark nominations, LA Cultural District Creation/Expansions, historic property research, building assessments and documentation, project management, historic district permitting, and grant writing. In addition, James is the Director of Planning and Preservation for the Recovery School District and has personally overseen the renovation of 25 school buildings, leveraging over $85M in historic and new markets tax credits .
Here are a few highlights that James will cover:
- What are historic tax credits?
- What are the benefits for property investors to purchase tax credit properties?
- What are other incentive programs in the capital stack?
- How does your property qualify and what if your property isn't in a current historic district?
- What is the difference between Federal and State tax credits?
- Why the historic tax credit program isn't for everybody?
Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn about investing in historic properties! This will be another "tool" in your investing toolbox that you will want to have!
Don't forget to pre-register! See you there!
