Add Short-Term Tenant to Long-Term Lease
Hello,
I have seen similar questions posted here but am struggling to find any that are specific enough to my situation.
I have a tenant a few months into a 1-year lease on a single family rental in CO. He has asked me if a travel nurse can stay with him in the house while doing a 3-month contract in the area. I'm struggling to come up with a plan for how to do this the correct way. I have sent this travel nurse links to go through with my full application process which includes a credit check, background check, etc.
It seems to me that I should create an addendum to the current lease that adds the travel nurse as a tenant (assuming they end up qualifying), and specify that the travel nurse will only be there for their 3-month contract.
Does that sound correct? Am I missing something obvious?
Thanks!
