Why is my rental still available? Read on …

Here are the reasons my rental is still available. The ads all state clearly, “One dog less than 30 lbs spayed/neutered, non aggressive breed and no cats”. So here are some illiterate folks who responded to the listing:

1. 2 great dane dogs, I said he’d need a backhoe to clean their manure. Do you think they are the alpha dogs? “My dogs told me not to pay the rent”

2. A husky and a doberman (I bet he didnt neuter them) he said he would “give” the dogs to his best friend who lives 15 mins away. So I would have to be a policeman to monitor if he took the dogs back after moving in and not paying the pet fees. Had a heavy Russian or other Baltic accent so started to act like he suddenly didnt understand me.

3. 4 yorkies (someone died so she took his 3 to create a matched set), sounds like a beginning hoarder …

4.  3 adult cats, 1 kitten, 1 dog (obviously the cats arent spayed)

5.  4 “service” dogs (yeah right just tryin to evade pet fee)

6.  An American bulldog and a dachsund

7.  Assorted cats “very respectful”.

8.  Other folks who dont know how much their dogs weigh.

9. My nephew (brother, grandfather, etc.) has to have surgery and will be moving in after it’s done and we will be keeping his pets (I didnt even ask what they were)

My favorite advice is “If you have a fish or a lizard, that’s fine there is no pet fee”

I really have to work hard not to say sarcastic or jokey stuff and be professional. Like, so how long would you say you are an animal hoarder?

Another person said “My dog is really old and dont expect him to last more than 2 months.” Yeah when they pass away they replace them with 2 or 3 new animals. The lease forbids this, obviously.

Another reason I have rejected an applicant was his refusal to show bank statements. Still wondering what he’s hiding. He thinks he’ll get a bank loan and buy a house credit score 572. Wait till he finds out what the underwriters demand that he submit.

Thanks for your time, any comments are welcome. Just finding it a real challenge to keep my outlook sunny …

Tell me a joke if you have a good one
