How do you deal with New York’s application fee cap?
I am purchasing my first duplex in western New York and I would like to use one of the many online sources for self management.
New York has a $20 dollar cap on the application fee but most if not all charge more than this just for the credit check and more if you want a criminal or eviction check.
So I’m wondering to the people in New York are you using these services?
How are you proceeding with the fees? Are you collecting $20 and pay the full price yourself?
Are you not worrying about the fact that the fees are higher than the $20 cap?
I’m just how you are navigating this law when wanting to use these online services.
