Finding a good property manager

Hello, how do you all find good property managers for long distance (3+ hours) rentals?. All the reviews I see on Yelp and BBB look horrifying so it scares me from buying properties out-of-state. If you don't use a property manager and self-manage, I understand you can call around general contractor to fix issues but how do you schedule showings for new tenants? Thanks!
