Tenants left owing judgement

Elisha Salgado
Posted
I took my tenants that lived in one of our apartments to the magistrate on August 3rd for lease violations and owed rent. The judge gave a judgement against them and they moved out yesterday August 13 without paying the judgement and they left the apartment filthy, with dog poop in the bathroom and with furniture they didn't take. What should be my next step?

@Elisha Salgado you're not going to want to hear this but, unfortunately, most of the time it is best to just let these situations go. If it's a small amount of money your time would be better used moving forward.

I've had a mentor stress to me many times that the mental energy and the opportunity costs of these situations is just not worth it. And I finally agree with him.
