Sioux Falls Medical Marijuana

With the recent passing of medical marijuana in South Dakota I am curious what steps everyone has taken in the Sioux Falls area. Has anyone dealt with it yet at their property’s?

Probably an unpopular stance here, but marijuana use isn't a problem. Treat it the same as cigarette use. All smoking needs to take place in designated outdoor areas.

I even have a tenant who smokes inside his rental. He thinks I don't know, because I haven't mentioned it. This tenant has power washed the deck, restained it, built a brick patio in the backyard, and pays rent every month on the 1st. All signs point to him living at the property for the next twenty years, and as far as I'm concerned, that's a win for my net worth. If he moves and I can smell marijuana inside the unit, he loses his deposit. I can Kilz the walls cheaply enough.

People will say marijuana is a liability and that only lazy people use it, but that's a false narrative. Focus on finding quality tenants and do everything you can to support those tenants. Then, if you make a mistake in judgement, you can always cite something like marijuana use as the reason for serving an eviction if necessary.
