California Owner-Occupied ESA Exemption
Hey there,
Californian here. Owning and living on a property with 4 or less units.
I have an applicant with an ESA dog. No issues with the dog, but I do want to request a pet deposit. Since I fall under the FHA exemption, is it legal to do so? I know California voids that exemption for discrimination against renters themselves, I just wasn't sure if that void also applied to an ESA.
