Property Line Surveyor in Bay Area

Hey BP,

Just purchased my first property that has no fence or barrier in the backyard, on one side. I was looking to hire a surveyor to come map out the property line so I can build a fence! Little did I know it would cost upwards of $5k+... I was wondering if anyone in the BP community has had luck working out a property line with a neighbor or if anyone else had some ideas on a way to handle this? Thanks!
