Tenant breakups
Last year I rented to an unmarried couple. After a year she moved out in May. Today I get a text message asking if I could be there while she removed her stuff from the house. He is out of town for the next week so he won't be around. She also stated that he may have changed the locks. She is still on the lease and still has a key (if they still work).
So how should I handle this?

I certainly didn't go into landlording to handle domestic disputes. I would let her know that if they cannot amicably work out the breakup then she needs to get law enforcement involved.
You could easily be found liable if she decides to take a bunch of his stuff and he wants to sue. Just tell her it's a domestic issue that you're not able to assist with and try to stay out of it!
