Weird Vibe From Prospective Tenant

Michael Casey
Posted

I had a showing today, and for some reason I got a weird vibe from the prospective tenant. Nothing in his application or during the showing made me think he was a bad applicant. No red flags. But he was a little quiet and didn’t have a lot of questions. I think he was probably just nervous, and I’m need. It’s a hard market right now.

Where is the home located that it is a hard market?  Rural? Most comments here across the country are the market is hot so just curious if your market is really slow or if there is an issue with this home?  Overpriced?

Along the way I have learned to trust the gut.  So if the guy has a bad feeling I would trust it.  What I also learned along they way is not trusting the gut is never worth it.  In 100% of the cases we had a bad feeling the situation turned out bad.  Dealing with the fallout is always worse.

I have no idea about this situation as I wasn't there so not advising you to accept or not accept.  But if you are having a hard time renting right now I would look at some of the those root causes.
