Question about shared laundry with basement tenants

My husband and I just bought a bungalow and will rent the basement while we live on the main floor. The basement entrance/staircase is in the middle of the house. At the bottom of the stairs, there is a hallway with three doors. The doors at the two ends go to rooms in the basement apartment. The door in the middle is the laundry/utility room that we may need to share.

The basement tenants will need to pass through the hallway (that we'll also need to access for laundry) when moving between their kitchen and the other rooms. They can have privacy if they keep the doors on either side shut. I have attached the floor plan if you want to see the layout.

We are debating installing separate laundry on the main floor so that we don't need to share the space. However, the seller's real estate agent and her contractor told us that installing laundry on the main floor could mess up the plumbing and potentially cause flooding. She strongly advised against it and said the house is too small to accommodate two separate laundry areas. And a friend who owns lots of rental homes thinks that the shared laundry won't be a big deal if we agree to a laundry schedule.

However, a different contractor (who only saw the basement, not the main floor) and my husband think that the shared space will be a turn off for potential renters. My husband is very worried that we won't be able to rent it with the shared space.

Any suggestions for how we can handle this? Thanks!
