Non renewal of lease Vs Termination
My tenant's lease is expiring in two months and I would not like the renew the lease and hoping to move in there... The property is in San Joaquin county CA.
My Property Manager sent me a 'Notice of Termination of Tenancy' to sign, and send it to the tenant. It has a clause to compensate the tenant with one month's rent. Technically, I am not terminating the lease. The 1 year agreement is expiring in 2 months and all I wanted is to issue a non-renewal notice to the tenant so that the 60 day requirement is met.
I am not sure why I have to issue 'Notice of Termination of Tenancy' with the explanation of why, and also a compensation for one month rent.
Is this related to COVID rules?
Thanks,
