How to get a non paying tenant out of a garage- New York City

Hi,

I rent out a garage in New york city. Tenant has stopped making payments for over 6 months, have not been answering calls and is no where to be found. I have tried to mail him legal forms but the address he listed on the lease was incorrect. His license plates on the car says it is registered in Virginia. I am thinking of calling the cops about an abandoned vehicle.

Any one have experience with this? Any tips on what I can do? Would really appreciate some help. Thanks!
