video camera with audio on multifamily unit
I live in Ohio and we recently rented the upper level of a duplex. We moved in our place in October of 2020. My downstairs neighbor said she had been here for two years and it was pretty quiet no break ins or criminal activity has happened in the two years she lived here. November of 2020 she installed four outside cameras facing every entrance two on the front door, one facing the driveway and one in the back of the building facing the back gate we drive through to get into our garage. I've always been bothered by the cameras because I feel like every time we come and go its being monitored. well a couple weeks ago we exchange words about her cleaning up her dogs business in the backyard that we share. At that moment she started repeating things me and my fiancé have discussed in the privacy of our home. Not outside but in our bedroom. When I asked how do you know what we're talking about inside our house? she stated her cameras have audio and she saves all our voice recorded conversations so she can take them to the apartment management company and get us evicted. My question is is it legal in Ohio for a tenant to install cameras in a multifamily united that voice records conversations we have in the privacy of our home?
