From majestic mountains, tropical rainforests and breathtaking coasts on both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, Colombia has it all and is the second most biodiverse country in the world. A country whose Indigenous populations account for a tremendous variety and a place whose people are friendly, open, and curious about strangers. Delicious local food, some of the best coffee in the world, emerging metropolises alongside small gems of colonial towns, a good infrastructure, extremely low price levels and also called the gateway to South America.

In the past, Colombia has struggled with safety and security issues, but today, it is one of the world's economic and political success stories. The dark times are long gone and Colombia has spent over 20 years successfully reinventing itself. The country has become an important tourist destination in Latin America, which has pushed the development in the hospitality, retail, and entertainment sectors.

And yet, the positive development is far from over - it is just beginning!

Colombia is the third most populous country in Latin America, the fourth largest economy in terms of GDP and has the third largest construction industry in Latin America. Its economic performance has resulted in a middle class with an increasing purchasing power and growing consumption.

The GDP growth in Colombia has maintained an average of 4.25% above the Latin American average with the most skilled workers per capita in the entire South American region, surpassing Brazil, Chile and Argentina. Colombia is ranked 67th in the world - which puts it third in Latin America for its ease of doing business and its also one of the top countries in the region when it comes to protecting its foreign investors' money.

Economically speaking, Colombia has many things working in its favor and even those who don't want to live in Colombia can profit from the economic growth.

At the moment, the Colombian peso is strongly undervalued, which makes traveling and living in Colombia extremely affordable. Even with a relatively weak euro or dollar, one can enjoy a pleasant lifestyle. Apart from the daily fare, this is especially interesting from an investing point of view.

What do you think? Would you invest in Colombian real estate?
