Scale of "sure" to "hell no" should I let our tenant get a puppy?
Hi everyone,
I have a tenant (three young men/roommates) renting a nice single family home of ours. They have have been in the house about a year and have been good tenants so far (except they often wait until the last minute to pay rent). We are generally a pet friendly landlord and initially allowed them to have a cat for $35 month. One of the guys reached out to see if we would allow him to get a golden retriever puppy. The house has a fenced in yard, wood floors and vinyl plank on the main floor but new carpets upstairs. I want to be accommodating to keep our tenants happy but I am concerned about the puppy aspect. What do you all think or what would you require? Does anyone have a good pet policy I can use?
Thanks for your help and advice!
John
