HOA Repairs Delaying Rental Income
Hello All,
Recently closed on a property with the idea to replace some floors and put on rental market. Upon ripping up the existing flooring, we discover water damage coming in from beneath the 2nd level "Juliet" style doors. Facade issues are supposed to be covered in the HOA. It has now been over month since we sent the original notification. Took HOA 2 weeks to respond/get contractor confirmation/estimate. Now its been over 2 weeks since the quote has been sent to the HOA board for approval and we have not gotten a concrete response.
Has anyone run into a similar situation?
Do we have any leverage here or are we at the mercy of our HOA?
At this point should we hire a contractor to make the repairs ourselves?
Thanks,
