Advertised rent too low
I created a posting for a rental unit and received close to 30 inquires. I asked people to fill out an application, but not pay for credit and background check unless I meet and decide to go with them. Essentially I made no verbal or written agreement to rent to anyone.
I had a few individuals apply, but when I checked with some local agents, I realized I priced the property rent to low. I took the listing down and decided to reach out to individuals who inquired or applied and let them know that I will be changing the rent. Is this illegal or am I within my rights.
My property is based in California.

Thank you Louie! I emailed and informed the individuals who filled out the application that I would be changing the rent to higher amount and if they are still interested then can come by and look at the place.
