Buying house with ADU

In the process of buying my first home. The house has an ADU duplex attached to it. I'm slightly overextending myself financially because the rental opportunity will pay my mortgage. Would love any tips for a first time landlord and home buyer. Also would be very interested to hear experience from people who have rented out ADUs (especially when the main dwelling is your primary residence). Appreciate any help.
