Do all Online Rent Payments take 4 business days to clear?

Jon K.
Posted

I've got a tenant on vacation asking if they can pay me tomorrow instantly.

The only rent payment site I've used took 4-5 days to deposit to my account.

Do all online rent payment sites that 4 business days for ACH transfers to process?

Mine takes 2-3 days. This is due to NACHA rules. It also cannot be retracted once it is deposited into your account since they have checked to make sure there are enough funds for the transaction or at least that is what my services tells me.

You would think that in the electronic age that it would be a pretty quick check but then nothing with banking is very intuitive. Maybe they just want a few days of interest accruing with double funds in their accounts.
