Temporary rental of primary residence after refinance

Zachary Switaj
Posted

Hello All,

My fiancé and I refinanced our home (in NH) in November '20 (after purchasing in Nov '19). She is an RN and looking to take a travel nursing position for the Summer months which would leave our home vacant.

We are hoping to temporarily rent out our home while we are away, but with the refinance <12 months ago as a Primary Residence (this situation arose after our refinance, otherwise that would have been a great time to do this as a rental property), how would we go about this?

I tried calling my mortgage provider, but after being on hold and transferred three separate times over an hour the call disconnected and I don't have the heart to try again right now.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Zach
