Renting by Room in Los Angeles (LA)

Hi all,

Question for experts in LA: Is anyone renting out rooms of a SFH in City of LA?

The real estate market in City of LA is just too complicated to understand because of the existence of RSO. The forum doesn't seem to have related discussion on renting by rooms in Los Angeles market.

I am looking to buy a SFH w/ ADU in City of LA for house hacking by renting out 3 of the 5 rooms to individuals, while I occupy the rest 2 rooms (1 for home office).

I wonder what's the consequence of this? Can a SFH in LA being occupied by 4 unrelated adults (3 tenants + me)? 🤔

Has anyone done this in LA? It seems to be the only option that makes sense in LA now.
