Accounting software for Multi-Family/Commercial properties

Looking for advice. We are looking to move our accounting from software my husband wrote for himself many, many years ago to something like Quickbooks so I can do the accounting. Trying to free up his time so he can work on the properties. We have all of our tenant side of the business with Buildium but would like the expenses, etc run thru another program. We are not interested in having tenant rent payments recorded etc, with this new software as we are very happy with Buildium. We would like to do the accounting for 4 separate properties (some commercial, some multi-family.) I have looked at Buildium but the answer is not very clear and would prefer, at this point, to keep that separate.

Where do you suggest we look? Anything I search for almost always talks about the tenant side - we have a great system for that and do not want to switch that part of our business.
