Lease Clause for Communication Method?

Do you guys have a standard clause to put in lease for what constitutes a formal/ legal communication method, and what responsibilities tenant has in responding?

We communicated with tenants almost exclusively by e-mail.  We recently had a dispute with a tenant re the legality of e-mail agreement.
